About Killing Eve

After a series of events, the lives of a security operative and an assassin become inextricably linked. "Eve is a bored, whip-smart security services operative whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is a talented killer, who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. These two fierce women, equally obsessed with each other, will go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse, toppling the typical spy-action thriller." ~ from IMDb

Killing Eve starred Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. It ran from 2018 - 2022 and was based on a book series by Luke Jennings called the Codename: Villanelle. The books themselves are not bad with the third book being the best of the three. The show used the book as a template and adapted it well for television.

It is understood that many fans were a bit put off after Season 2 as Season 3 & 4 took a different direction and dipped into religion with Villanelle vs Eve was not as much in the forefront as it had been in the first two seasons. There was some really good scenes though but the plot went off the rails. But Covid play a major factor into the filming of Season 3 & 4. They couldn't film with the freedom they had in Seasons 1 & 2 with all the shutdowns and protocols. Wonder what the last two seasons would have been like had Covid not happened.

I guess we will never know.
